DJI Register FPV Drone On FCC DataBase, Could This Mean A Mavic 3 Is Coming!?
DJI's leaked FPV drone has officially been registered onto the FCC database in the US, along with a new controller and FPV goggles. Hopefully, it means the new drone is likely to be released very soon after months of leaked images and excitement around it.
DJI also tend to get its products through the FCC about a month before they are released(talk about waiting last minute). It also points to an early-January release date, but of course, this is just speculation. There is also a chance that DJI could announce the new drone before the end of the year and only begin shipping next year. All of the listings have confidentiality dates that are around mid-year 2021. Those dates could mean DJI only plans on releasing the new products later next year, but this usually isn't the case. From past products, DJI usually puts the dates around six months after a product release, which puts the release date a lot sooner than that.
While we are talking about DJIs habits on product releases, there is also an excellent chance we may see the Mavic 3 series making an appearance in early 2021.
Why would we say that? Well again, it's back to DJI's habits and past releases. What tends to happen is the predecessor to the new release tends to start going EOL (End Of Life). When a product begins going EOL the distributors and warehouses within the UK, begin having stock shortages, and they tend to hint at a new release.
Over the past two weeks, there has been a shortage of Mavic 2 Zooms/Pros in warehouses across the UK. Yes, we could also argue that this is a knock-on effect of Covid-19 in the factories in China, but wouldn't it make sense for DJI to release the first EASA Class drone once the regulations officially come in?
Why haven't DJI released a drone that falls into C0-C4 categories? Well, if there is another delay in EASE regulations, then it would affect the sale of new drones. It makes sense for them to wait until they come into place.
And considering the DJI Mavic Series is the best selling series of all time, who's to say the new DJI FPV Drone hype isn't a coverup for the Mavic 3 release?
All we know is that this is speculation, and considering the quality of these "leaked images." Who knows what's going to be released and when!
